Since it hit theatres, Mari Selvaraj's Bison Kaalamaadan has been winning praise from audiences and celebrities alike. The latest to join the bandwagon is actor Rajinikanth who shared his words of appreciation on call with the filmmaker and producer Pa Ranjith for making a raw and authentic sports drama. "Super, Mari. I watched Bison. The effort and personality you bring to every film amazes me. Congratulations, Mari!" said Rajinikanth, while speaking with the director.

Mari Selvaraj, expressed his gratitude to Rajinikanth, stating that he has always supported his films, right from his debut movie Pariyerum Perumal.

"Just like Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan, Maamannan, and Vaazhai, he called me to appreciate my fifth film Bison (Kaalamaadan). The superstar called me and Ranjith sir on the phone and praised us from the heart. On behalf of myself and my entire film crew, I express my sincere thanks to him," he wrote on his X handle.

Rajisha Vijayan: Dhruv was the hardest-working person on set

Produced by Pa Ranjith and Aditi Anand under Neelam Studios in association with Applause Entertainment, Bison also features Anupama Parameshwaran, Lal, Ameer, Pasupathi, and Rajisha Vijayan. A sports drama, the film is inspired from the life and struggles of Arjuna award-winning Kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan.

Our CE review of the film read, "Bison is Mari Selvaraj’s most violent to date, and it is beautiful how the gore and bloodshed aren’t at the hands of the protagonist but everywhere around him. It is a terrific exploration of the aftermath of violence and its unsettling consequences in the minds of the young and easily influenced."

The technical crew of the film includes Ezhil Arasu K as the cinematographer, Sakthi Thiru as the editor, Kumar Gangappan as the art director, and Dhilip Subbarayan as the action choreographer.
