As we reported earlier, the promo of Silambarasan's upcoming film with Vetri Maaran, Arasan, is all set to be screened in popular theatres ahead of Deepavali, on October 16. The promo is set to be unveiled to the public on YouTube on October 17.
On Thursday, the makers announced that the film's Telugu promo will be unveiled by Jr NTR at 10.17 am. In the same announcement, they also revealed that the film has been titled Saamrajyam in Telugu.
On X, Kalaipuli S Thanu, the producer of the film, announced, "NTR for STR. The empire rises beyond borders! The much-awaited #Arasan now roars in Telugu as #Saamrajyam – a kingdom of power, pride, and pure mass! The Man of Masses, @tarak9999, will unveil the Telugu promo on 17th Oct, Friday, at 10:07 AM." The film, which is currently in production, is part of the Vada Chennai universe, as revealed by director Vetri Maaran earlier. The director is set to make use of the screenplay he originally wrote for the 2018 Dhanush starrer. While he wrote the script with Silambarasan as his lead, the director had to make changes to make it.
Arasan is expected to feature notable names from Vada Chennai, including Andrea reprising her role as Chandra, Samuthirakani, and Kishore, alongside newcomers Manikandan and Nelson Dilipkumar. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited. Although they exist in the same universe, Dhanush's character Anbu is confirmed not to be part of Arasan. Meanwhile, speculations about the female lead are also rife, with the names of Keerthy Suresh and Samantha being thrown in the mix.
Arasan is backed by Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations banner. Details about the plot, technical team, and a release date are yet to be revealed, but knowing Vetri Maaran's filmography and the gritty world of Vada Chennai, fans can expect an intense action drama replete with gang rivalry.
