Kamal Haasan took to social media to write about late zoologist Jane Goodall. The scientist passed away on October 1, at the age of 91, in Los Angeles, USA.
Taking to his X handle, Kamal wrote, "Jane Goodall reminded us of a fundamental truth: humans are not masters, but co-tenants of this planet. She made us look into the eyes of chimpanzees and see family, not subjects. In her passing, one hard question lingers - will we finally learn to live on earth as one species among many?"
Goodall was born in London and went on to receive her PhD at the Darwin College of Cambridge University. Her work at the Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania, changed the views of the scientific community towards chimpanzees. She also founded the Jane Goodall Institute, an organisation for environment conservation.
Kamal Haasan became a Member of Parliament of the Rajya Sabha. He was nominated by DMK and started his term on July 25.
