The first song from director Suresh Rajakumari’s Sirai is finally out. The makers unveiled the lyrical video of the romantic track 'Mannichiru' on Saturday, giving audiences a glimpse of the film’s emotional core. Produced by S S Lalit Kumar under Seven Screen Studios, Sirai is set to hit screens on December 25.
Seven Screen Studios unveiled the song on X, writing, “#Sirai first single 'Mannichiru' out now! Singers: @dsathyaprakash and @aanandi_j. Lyrics: @justin_tunes. Worldwide in theatres from December 25.” Lead actor Vikram Prabhu also shared the song on his social media, drawing attention to its heartfelt theme of a man seeking forgiveness from his beloved.
The melody has been composed by Justin Prabhakaran, who interestingly doubles as the lyricist for this number. The track is sung by D Sathya Prakash and Aanandi Joshi, whose voices bring out the tenderness in the apology-driven love song.
Sirai marks the acting debut of L K Akshay Kumar, son of producer S S Lalit Kumar. The film stars Vikram Prabhu in the lead, with Anantha paired opposite him. Akshay Kumar is introduced opposite Anishma. The story, inspired by real events, is written by filmmaker Tamizh of Taanakaran fame and is said to stem from a personal incident he experienced.
Suresh Rajakumari, who has long collaborated with director Vetrimaaran, makes his solo directorial outing with Sirai, crafting a narrative that unfolds between a police officer and a suspect in custody. The film is backed by a high-profile technical crew, featuring cinematography by Madesh Manickam, editing by Philomin Raj, and stunt choreography by Prabhu. Arun K and Manikandan serve as executive producers.
Shot across Chennai, Sivagangai, and Vellore, Sirai is touted to be one of Seven Screen Studios’ big-budget ventures, with the team pulling out all stops to ensure a polished, high-impact drama. The film is currently in post-production.
