Actor Sivakarthikeyan graced the launch event of Soldiers Factory's fifth and sixth production ventures on Monday, titled Superhero and Ninja, respectively. At the event, he spoke about his relationship with the producer, KS Sinish, going all the way back to his television days.
"Many years ago, when I was at Sinish's office, he asked me what I wanted to become in the film industry. At that time, I was working in television while also assisting on Vettai Mannan and acting in a small comedy role. I had no real ambition of becoming a hero, yet I casually told him that was what I wanted. He immediately asked, “Siva, why do you need this unnecessary dream?” and suggested that I continue as a comedian because he felt I had good comic sense," he recalled.
Further, Sinish was very clear about his opinion: "I argued and asked him why someone like me couldn’t become a hero. I thought the topic would end there, but he brought it up again during a break and convinced me to consider focusing on comedy. He even said dancer Sathish looked more like hero material than me."
He then added, "Eventually, I forgot the whole conversation. Years later, when I actually became a hero, he remembered it and reached out to me. He said, “I hope you don’t hold my words against me.” I was caught up with work at the time, but he assumed I wasn’t talking to him because I was still upset about what he had said back then."
Soldiers Factory is the banner behind films like Parking and Dikkiloona. Their 5th production venture, Superhero, stars Arjun Das, Sandy and Teju Ashwini in lead roles and is helmed by Vignesh Venugopal. Ninja, their sixth project, stars Bhaarath and Prarthana Nathan and is helmed by Murugu.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in Madharaasi. The actor is currently gearing up for the release of Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi, which is slated for January 14.
