The other day, actor Kavin visited an educational institution as a guest a few days before the release of his film Mask, co-starring Andrea Jeremiah and directed by Vikarnan Ashok. At the event, the actor delivered a brief speech to college students about the importance of prioritising education over films. The actor said that his film is hitting theatres in a few days, but he also encouraged students not to bunk class to watch it on the release day. "You must come to college that day and finish your duties first, and then you may also watch it on Saturday or Sunday when you have a leave."
The actor underscored that the film is only a piece of entertainment and urged students to view it accordingly. "Enter it only when necessary and make the exit. It is best to view a piece of entertainment as that only and nothing else," he said referring to Mask.
The actor's comments have drawn comparisons with Ajith Kumar, who is also known for his stance on prioritising life over cinema. Ajith has often asked his fans not to deify him and to take care of their lives instead of spending too much time focusing on his stardom. When his fans once showed 'impatience' around when Valimai would release, Ajith came on public record and asked fans to calm down, saying the films are only for entertainment for them and that their actions would define their value and respect in society.
Coming back to Kavin, the actor has expressed his admiration for Ajith on multiple occasions. His film Mask is slated for a November 21 release in theatres.
