Two months after being officially launched, Vijay Antony's upcoming film Nooru Saami has entered its final schedule of filming. The film reunites the actor-composer with director Sasi, nine years after Pichaikkaran. Vijay Antony shared a behind-the-still picture from the film where he is seated in a field in a village.
It is to be noted that the film's title, Nooru Saami, is taken from the eponymous song from Pichaikkaran. The film is backed by Fatima Vijay Antony and Vijay Antony under their Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner.
In an earlier interview, director Sasi confirmed that the film will revolve around the mother-son emotional bond. He has also confirmed that the film will not take off from where Pichaikkaran left us.
Nooru Saami will also star Swasika, Lijomol Jose and Vijay Antony's nephew Ajay Dhishan in important roles. TV actor Sakthi and Kavya Anil are also a part of the film's cast. The film is slated to hit theatres on May 1, 2026. On the technical front, Balaji Sriram will compose the tunes for this film, while Darshan Kirlosh will crank the camera and Kannan Balu will handle editing.
This year, Vijay Antony acted in two films - Maargan, written, directed and edited by Leo John Paul which also starred Ajay Dhishan in the lead, and Shakthi Thirumagan, directed by Arun Prabu of Aruvi and Vaazhl-fame. He is collaborating with Ajay Dhishan once again as a producer for his upcoming film Pookie, directed by Ganesh Chandra.
