As Mani Ratnam's much-anticipated film Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan in the lead is gearing up for a release on June 5, the director and the actors have been on a promotional spree to spread the word about the action film. Even before its release, speculations were rife that the Roja director will be joining hands with Telugu star Naveen Polishetty for his next.

However, Mani Ratnam has quashed the rumours in a recent interview. He stated, "Not at all. Even that is News to me. I have no clue what they are talking about." While answering questions about his next film after Thug Life, he said, "I am thinking. I am working on a couple of scripts. I don't know what will fall into place. What looks very promising today, next morning it might disappear. So I am working it out."

Thug Life’s extended ensemble cast comprises Trisha, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nassar, Joju George, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tanikella Bharani, Vadivukkarasi, Chinni Jayanth, Vaiyapuri, Bagavathi Perumal, Baburaj, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf, Arjun Chidambaram, Chetan, and Rajashri Deshpande.

Thug Life marks Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan's reunion after 38 years since their hit outing, Nayakan. The technical crew of Thug Life features cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, music director AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and action directors Anbariv. The film is a co-production between Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies, Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Film International, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.
