Ajith Kumar pays respects to Ayrton Senna at Tamburello corner

Recently, actor Ajith Kumar visited the Imola circuit, specifically the Tamburello corner where Ayrton Senna tragically lost his life, to pay his respects to the Formula 1 World Champion. Ajith has a deep and publicly acknowledged admiration for the late Formula 1 legend, whom he considers his idol in the racing world. In a video now up on Ajith Kumar Racing team's X account, he can be seen kissing the foot of the statue of Senna and sitting in front of it holding hands, as if in a prayer. This deeply personal tribute reveals a rare exception to Ajith's general discomfort with the idea of deification, even as it underscores the immense respect he holds for Senna.

In a recent interview with TNIE’s Indulge Express, Ajith expressed that he is a massive admirer of Senna. When asked about his dream car, the actor mentioned the McLaren Senna. “I had been pursuing this car for some time, and recently was fortunate enough to acquire the 20th example out of the 500 total ever built – and that is my dream come true,” he said.

It is worth noting that Senna breathed his last after a collision in the aforesaid circuit. Ajith has often expressed that racing is a major source of contentment for him, a sentiment he shares with Senna.
