Shaam’s latest theatrical release, Asthram, is all set to premiere on Aha Tamil on May 9. The film hit theatres on March 21 and opened to unfavourable reviews. The film is helmed by Aravind Rajagopal.
Billed as a crime-investigation thriller, the film has a story penned by Jegan MS. Nizhalgal Ravi, Aroul D Shankar, Jeeva Ravi, and a newcomer, Ranjith DSM, round out the supporting cast of Asthram.
Aravind Rajagopal, who has a decade of experience making short films, has made his debut with Asthram. An excerpt from CE’s review of Asthram reads, “The performances fail to elevate the already weak material. Shaam is unfortunately saddled with an underdeveloped character, and the actor can only do so much to elevate it.”
Sundaramoorthy, who is known for his work in Airaa, 8 Thottakkal, and Bommai Nayagi, is the music composer for Asthram. The film features cinematography by Kalyan and editing by Boopathy. Asthram is backed by Dhana Shanmugamani of Best Movies.
