Actor Shaam's next titled Asthram

Venkat Prabhu, Arya and more unveiled the first look poster of actor Shaam's next, titled Asthram. A crime-investigation thriller, the film marks the maiden directorial venture of Aravind Rajagopal. 

Backed by Dhana Shanmughamani of Best Movies, Asthram stars model and actor Niranjani as the female lead. Nizhalgal Ravi, Jiva Ravi, and Arul D Shankar, among others, form the film's supporting cast. 

As per an official press note, the director said, "During the pandemic, my team and I made a 30-minute pilot film. Recognizing the exceptional quality of the story, we made the collective decision to transform it into a full-length feature. The talented story writer, Jagan, has masterfully crafted the narrative. As a result, the film has taken shape as an enthralling crime investigation thriller."

Shaam is all set to be seen as a cop in Asthram. The note further detailed how Aravind roped in Shaam to play the lead. "I reached out to actor Shaam through social media to narrate the plot of this film. Unaware of my identity, he placed trust in my words and graciously invited me to his office. Upon hearing the story, he promptly agreed to take on the role."

"Actor Shaam with an unwavering commitment, he has poured his heart and soul into this cinematic masterpiece, firmly convinced that it shall serve as a triumphant resurgence in his illustrious career," he added. 

Sundaramoorthy, who last composed music for Bommai Nayagi is the music director for Asthram, which will also feature cinematographer by Kalyan. Boopathi, who has worked as an assistant editor in Soorarai Pottru and Irudhi Suttru, will make his debut as an editor with Asthram.
