The first single from Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie is here, and it is a lively and high-spirited track titled 'Chikitu'. The song video features singer-composer Anirudh Ravichander grooving to the lyrics alongside Rajinikanth and co-singer T Rajendar, among others. The song has lyrics by Arivu, who also lends his voice to it.
Recently, Coolie's production banner, Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures, released a glimpse video, announcing the release date of the song while disclosing the film's Hindi title, much to the chagrin of the audience. For the uninitiated, the film has been titled Majadoor for the Hindi audience.
Earlier, the film's makers released a musical piece titled 'Powerhouse Vibe', featuring Anirudh and Arivu's vocals.
Satyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Akkineni Nagarjuna play key characters in Coolie, along with Shruti Haasan. Meanwhile, Pooja Hegde and Aamir Khan make cameo appearances in the film. Lokesh and Chandhru Anbazhagan have written the dialogues for the film, whereas Chandhru is credited for additional screenplay. Coolie marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and Lokesh as well as the former and Shruti Haasan. The film reunites Rajinikanth with Satyaraj after 1986's Mr Bharath.
The film's technical team also includes cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, editor Philomin Raj, and stunt choreographers Anbariv. The film is set to release on August 14 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. Meanwhile, you can watch the 'Chikitu' song here:
