Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth's Coolie has been titled Majadoor for the Hindi audience. The revelation came quietly as the film's production banner, Sun Pictures, dropped an update about the release of its song, 'Chikitu'. The decision to rename the film for the Hindi audience has not gone down well with netizens. Many internet users do not understand the logic behind the move, with some even rhetorically suggesting that the film's makers fail to understand the nationwide appeal of its lead actor and original title. It is interesting to see how the makers would respond to the backlash.
Coolie’s cast includes Satyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Upendra in key roles, alongside Shruti Haasan. Set to release on August 14, the film also stars Pooja Hegde and Aamir Khan in cameo roles. Lokesh and Chandhru Anbazhagan have written the dialogues for the film, with Chandhru credited for additional screenplay. The film's technical team includes composer Anirudh, cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, editor Philomin Raj, and stunt choreographers Anbariv. Coolie is scheduled to release a day before India’s Independence Day in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. Meanwhile, the song 'Chikitu' is set to drop at 6:00 pm tomorrow.
