Recently, we reported about Aparshakti Khurana making his Tamil debut in Gautham Ram Karthik's science-fiction film Root—Running out of time. The film kicked off with a pooja ceremony in Chennai earlier this July. A while ago, Aparshakti took to his Instagram to express his love for the city. He shared some pictures where he is clad in a shirt and a dhoti at a piece of land with plenty of coconut trees. Sharing one of the pictures on his Instagram Stories, the actor wrote, "Vanakkam Chennai." In another post on his Stories, the actor pinned the song 'Enna Solla' from 2016's Thangamagan and wrote in Hindi that even the cows in Chennai love him.
Aparshakti is most popular for his performance in 2018's Stree. His Tamil debut Root—Running out of time is directed by debutant Sooriyaprathap and also stars Bhavya Trikha. A couple of weeks ago, the film's banner Verus Productions put out a casting call, looking for male, female, and child actors for it.
Recently, Aparshakti said in a statement, "I am absolutely thrilled to be making my debut in Tamil cinema with ROOT - Running Out of Time." He described it as a film with "a challenging and unique script," allowing him to delve into a new genre. On the other hand, director Sooriyaprathap told Times of India that Aparshakti's performance in Vikramaditya Motwane's Jubilee made him rope the actor in for Root. The filmmaker also stated that the actor has a role with a grey shade in the science-fiction film.
Aparshakti Khurana's upcoming films include Badtameez Gill, the Navjot Gulati directorial also starring Vaani Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Monica Chaudhary, and Sheeba Chaddha. The actor also has Gunmaster G9, opposite Emraan Hashmi, in the horizon.
