Director Sudha Kongara, who is currently occupied with the post-production work for her upcoming directorial, Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi, has spoken to Cinema Vikatan about the film's plot and what to expect from it.
She explained that Parasakthi is not just a political film. "It is not just a political film for me. It is also a beautiful story about the bond between two brothers, Sivakarthikeyan and Atharvaa. There is also a strong love angle in the film. Sivakarthikeyan plays a government employee, and Atharvaa plays an engineering student. Both characters have different principles and face conflicts. Sreeleela plays the minister’s daughter, and love plays an important role in the story," she said.
Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, Atharvaa and Sreeleela, the film also stars Ravi Mohan, who dons the antagonist role. The film is also expected to feature Rana Daggubati, although the makers have not confirmed his casting. The film marks Sreeleela's debut in the Tamil industry.
Parasakthi is Sudha Kongara's fourth film after Drohi, Irudhi Suttru, and Soorarai Potru. Sudha has written the film along with Arjun Nadesan, with an additional screenplay by Ganeshaa and dialogues by Madhan Karky and Shan Karuppusamy. The crew of the film includes GV Prakash as the music composer, Ravi K Chandran as the cinematographer and Sathish Surya as the editor. Aakash Baskaran is producing the film under his Dawn Pictures banner.
Dev Ramnath is serving as the creative producer, along with MP Senthel and Rhea Kongara, who are serving as executive producers. Red Giant Movies is distributing the film. With post-production in full swing, Parasakthi is gearing up for a release on January 14, 2026.
