Even as Pradeep Ranganathan's Love Insurance Kompany awaits release after significant delays, the actor has reportedly signed his next film as a lead and is set to direct the same. Producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment confirmed that the upcoming film from the actor will be backed by their banner during a recent interaction with Galatta Plus. This marks the third time Pradeep is joining hands with the noted production house after their back-to-back hits Love Today (2022) and Dragon (2025).
Pradeep Ranganathan was last seen in Dude, directed by debutant Keerthiswaran. The film starred Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, while R Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Aishwarya Sharma and Neha Shetty played prominent roles.
Dude tells the story of two relatives (Pradeep and Mamitha) who start a new event-planning venture. When they get close together for the business venture, one of them falls in love with the other and proposes marriage to the latter, making their relationship complicated. The film grossed more than 100 crore from theatres worldwide. It marked a third consecutive 100-crore-grosser for Pradeep, the first two being Love Today and Dragon. The film emerged as the winner in a box-office battle earlier this Diwali, minting more money from theatres worldwide as compared to Bison, starring Dhruv Vikram and directed by Mari Selvaraj, and Diesel starring Harish Kalyan and Athulya Ravi. However, it received mixed reviews from critics.
His upcoming film Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) is directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film, also starring Krithi Shetty and SJ Suryah in leading roles, was set for release during the festive occasion of Deepavali, along with Dude. However, Vignesh Shivan, in the interest of both the movies, shifted its release to December 18. With no announcements or promotions ahead of it hitting theatres, the film has been postponed to a later date which is yet to be announced by the makers. The sci-fi romantic entertainer is backed by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures, as well as SS Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio.
