Pradeep Ranganathan, who was last seen in Dragon, currently has Vignesh Shivan's LIK and Keerthiswaran's Dude in the pipeline. LIK was initially slated to hit theatres on September 18 but was recently pushed to October 17 to capitalise on the Deepavali festival and the holidays that come along.
Meanwhile, Dude was also announced to hit theatres for Deepavali 2025, without fixing an exact date for the release. Ever since LIK's Deepavali release was announced, social media has been buzzing with reports of Pradeep Ranganathan having two releases for the festival.
However, recently, at the Galatta Golden Stars 2025 event, Pradeep Ranganathan confirmed that only one of the two films will release for Deepavali. He said, "Either LIK or Dude will hit theatres for Deepavali. It will be a festival at which you will see me in theatres." However, he did not confirm which of the two films will be taking over the release date.
A sci-fi rom-com, LIK or Love Insurance Kompany also stars Krithi Shetty, SJ Suryah, Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Shah Ra, Malavika, Mysskin, Anandaraj and Sunil Reddy in key roles. It is backed by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures, as well as SS Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio. On the technical front, the film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography handled by Ravi Varman and Sathyan Sooryan, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
On the other hand, Dude is a romantic action comedy which stars Mamitha Baiju alongside Pradeep. Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon and Rohini are also a part of the cast. It is Keerthiswaran's directorial debut and Mythri Movie Makers' second Tamil production. The film has music composed by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography handled by Niketh Bommi and editing by Barath Vikraman.
