At the Coolie audio launch, Rajinikanth used the spotlight to offer hard-earned life lessons, blending stories from his past with reflections on happiness and character.
The veteran actor didn't hesitate to speak about discipline and health, passing on advice he credited to co-star Nagarjuna: “What’s your secret? He said, ‘Regular exercise. Know what to eat. No eating after 6:30 PM. And what my dad gave me: genes.” Rajinikanth added his own wisdom for the audience: “One thing, my friends, if we don’t punish our body a little, the body will punish us back. Our organs, heart, lungs... all tell us, 'Come on! Exercise a bit!' They keep telling us, but we ignore it.”
Shifting gears, Rajinikanth got philosophical about listening to an inner voice, the difference between guidance from faith and self-centredness: “God quietly whispers in your ear what to do. God’s voice always says, ‘Whatever you do, wish well for yourself and others too.’ But your own voice says, ‘Just be fine yourself. Just focus on your peace, your happiness.’ If you follow that, you’ll get fame and money, but only for a short while. Even with all the fame and money, without peace at home and respect outside, it’s useless.”
He offered words of gratitude for all who shaped his journey: “All the people there were Tamilians… those who lifted sacks with me, those directors, producers, and above all, godlike people who gave me life!”
