Penguin cinematographer roped in for Adipurush

We reported yesterday that Prabhas will be collaborating with director Om Raut for an epic 3D feature titled Adipurush. It is now known that cinematographer Kharthik Palani has been roped in to handle the camera for the film. Kharthik has previously worked on the Hindi films Love Shagun, Zeenat, Telugu films Next Nuvve, Brand Babu, Kannada film French Biriyani. The erstwhile assistant of Tirru recently made his Tamil debut with the Keerthy Suresh-starrer Penguin.

A source close to the film's unit says, "Cinematographer Tirru was supposed to have cranked the camera for Om Raut's latest release Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, but due to date issues, that did not work out. The makers of Tanhaji, who are also producing Adipursh, were in touch with Tirru and his team, so they knew Kharthik too. Interestingly, Kharthik was supposed to have worked in a film that was produced by Om Raut, but that got pushed. After watching Penguin, the makers contacted Kharthik and had him fly to Mumbai to discuss the film."

Speaking about the film, the source adds, "Adipurush is still in the nascent stage. The pre-production work is yet to begin and there will be a number of discussions to figure out many aspects, including the rest of the cast and crew. As of now, the makers are planning to take the film on floors in January."

Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, along with Raut’s production house Retrophiles, Adipurush will be shot in Hindi and Telugu, and then dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and other languages.
