Ilaiyaraaja to SP Balasubrahmanyam: Balu, come back soon!

Ever since the news broke that legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who was in the hospital due to Covid-19, is critical and has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit, fans from all over and people from the film industry have been praying for his recovery.

Veteran music composer Ilaiyaraaja has shared an open video message now asking his long-term friend SPB to recover and come back soon from the hospital. "Come back soon Balu! I am waiting for you! Our friendship isn't restricted to cinema. Neither will it end here. Music was our source of life and life itself for us," he said.

He also went on to address the tussle he had with SPB, which lasted for a couple of years and came to an end last year. "Just like how music and swaras are intertwined with each other, our lives and friendship is inseparable. Whether we stayed together or fought each other, deep inside we both knew that it was out of love and friendship. My instinct strongly says that you will be alright and I pray to god that you get well soon. Balu seekiram va!"

Meanwhile, the singer's son, SPB Charan, took to Twitter to share an important health update. "He is critical but is in safe hands at MGM Healthcare. We are all confident that SPB will be back with all of us sooner than later." In an interview to Puthiya Thalaimurai, Charan further said that the doctors are confident about him making a recovery soon.
