We had earlier speculated that actors Khushbu and Meena would be part of Thalaivar 168, Rajinikanth's film with director Siva. While it was announced earlier today that Meena will indeed star in the film, it has now come to light that actor-politician Khushbu too will be part of Thalaivar 168.

Thalaivar 168, also starring Keerthy Suresh, Soori and Prakash Raj, will mark Khushbu's first film with Rajinikanth after 27 years.

Notably, Khushbu's Tamil debut, Dharmathin Thalaivan (1988), was also alongside Rajinikanth. Since then, she has acted in multiple films opposite Rajini, including Mannan, Annamalai, and Pandiyan. Khushbu has not been active as an actor in Tamil cinema since 2011. Her last starring role was in the Pa Vijay film, Ilaignan (2011).

Incidentally, Meena too has been away from Tamil cinema since 2011. Meena and Khushbu earlier shared screen space in the 1994 blockbuster Naattamai

With music by D Imman, Thalaivar 168 is bankrolled by Sun Pictures. More updates about the rest of the cast and crew are expected soon.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Darbar, which is slated to hit the screens this Pongal.
