Don’t Be Shy, the upcoming Alia Bhatt film production is set for OTT premiere on Prime Video on September 25. On Thursday, the makers continued their film’s promotions by launching the first single, titled ‘Jhoomo.’
Composed by Ram Sampath, ‘Jhoomo’ is a groovy dance number with a relaxed rhythm and a retroesque sound to it, almost like a 70s disco number. Also penned by Ram Sampath alongwith Devansh Vaidya, ‘Jhoomo’ is sung by Jonita Gandhi and Saahel. The music video for Jhoomo too is in sync, with the lead actors — Aarushi Bajaj, Ansh Duggal, Bianca Arora, and Piyush Khati — donning retro-inspired costumes and embracing the nostalgic atmosphere of the number. The film’s music rights have been acquired by T-Series.
Ram Sampath shared on the occasion, “‘This number was conceived as a song that celebrates the simple joy of being in the moment. We wanted it to have a lively, rhythmic quality that felt effortless and inviting while complementing the playful world of Don’t Be Shy.”
The first teaser of the film was unveiled a few days ago. Written and directed by debutant, Sreeti Mukerji, the film promises to tell the story of Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, a 20-year-old girl who thinks she has everything figured out until her perfectly planned life takes an unpredictable turn, and things begin to spiral out of her control. The film’s supporting cast includes Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia, and Anju Alva Naik.
Alia is producing the film in collaboration with her sister Shaheen Bhatt, under the banner of Eternal Sunshine Productions, with Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani from Chalkboard Entertainment on board as co-producers. They made their production debut with Darlings (2022).
