On Friday, Alia Bhatt alongwith her sister Shaheen Bhatt announced their new film project for Prime Video titled Don’t Be Shy. Sreeti Mukerji is the writer-director for the film.
The duo made the announcement with a tongue-in-cheek announcement promo, where the two sisters can be seen dealing with production hassles and contemplating over what kind of concept to greenlight next, even as they find themselves bombarded with action-heavy scripts. The two finally talk about Don’t Be Shy, describing it as a story which has romance, music and heartbreak and something ‘we all grew up with.’
As the first look poster promises, Don’t Be Shy is a new-age rom-com with a lot of youth and vigour. While the poster reveals the names of its four protagonists — Dhruv, Tara, Shy, Mayank — it hasn’t been announced who are signed to play these roles.
A premiere date for the show is yet to be confirmed as well. Don’t Be Shy is being produced under Eternal Sunshine Productions, with Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani serving as co-producers.
Sreeti has previously worked as an assistant director on films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Brahmastra.
