

Actor's Udhaya's latest gangster drama Accused is gearing up for release on OTT, two months after it hit theatres. Directed by Prabhu Srinivas, the film was received with mixed and positive reviews upon release, but found success in the interior regions of Tamil Nadu. Shows in theatres were significantly increased following the surge in occupancy. The film is set to premiere on October 24 on OTT platform Aha.
Starring alongside Udhaya are Ajmal and Yogi Babu. Well-known director Prabu Solomon has also played an important role in the film, while popular Kannada actor Jahnvika portrays the female lead. Ajmal plays a police constable while Udhaya plays a convict in the film which explores the idea that not everyone accused of a crime is guilty.
Cinematographer Maruthanayagam I, music composer Naren Balakumar, editor KL Praveen, and stunt director Stunt Silva are a part of the Accused's technical team.
The film's director, Prabhu, has previously directed a Kannada film, Body God. Son of film producer PL Thenappan and brother of filmmaker AL Vijay, Udhayaa, who made his debut as the lead in Tirunelveli (2000), was last seen in Silambarasan TR's Maanaadu (2021) and as the lead in Utharavu Maharaja (2018). He also has to acting credits Zee5's webseries Singa Penne in 2020.
