Mammootty Kampany has officially begun the search for a new heroine for its upcoming Production No. 10, releasing a casting call seeking applications from aspiring actors. The banner, founded by megastar Mammootty, shared the announcement on social media, inviting women aged between 30 and 35 to audition for the lead female role in the film. According to the casting notice, the makers are specifically looking for someone who can speak Tamil fluently. Preference will be given to candidates who are equally proficient in Malayalam and Tamil. Those interested in applying have been asked to submit a full-length photograph, biodata, a self-introduction video in Tamil and a one-minute performance video. Applications must be sent on or before July 31.
While the makers have not officially disclosed further details about the project, the casting call marks the first major update regarding Mammootty Kampany's tenth production. Industry circles have been abuzz with speculation surrounding the project. Although no official confirmation has been issued, unconfirmed reports suggest that Mammootty will play the lead role in the film. Reports also indicate that the project could be directed by Shibin Murukesh, who previously worked as an associate of Premalu director Girish AD. However, the makers are yet to announce the director, cast or technical crew.
Mammootty Kampany has consistently backed films that have found appreciation among both audiences and critics. The company's first production, Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, directed by filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery, received widespread critical acclaim for its unconventional storytelling and Mammootty's celebrated performance. The banner followed it up with projects such as Nissam Basheer's Rorschach, Jeo Baby's Kaathal: The Core and Roby Varghese Raj's Kannur Squad, all of which went on to become significant talking points within the industry.
Meanwhile, Mammootty is currently shooting for Om, the upcoming Dhanush-starrer directed by Amaran filmmaker Rajkumar Periasamy.
