Director Jude Anthany Joseph's Thudakkam hit theatres earlier this Friday, and the first reviews paint an encouraging picture about the film that marks the acting debuts of both Mohanlal's daughter Vismaya and Antony Perumbavoor's son, Aashish Joe Antony. Audiences who have caught the first few shows of the film commend the works of director Jude Anthany Joseph, Vismaya Mohanlal, and Aashish. Many of them opine that the film makes Vismaya's father proud. They also praise Mohanlal's performance in a cameo role in their Thudakkam reviews.
On the film's release day, Vismaya and her brother Pranav Mohanlal attended a screening of the film at a theatre in Kochi. Videos of Pranav walking his sister into the theatre by holding her hand have been going viral on the internet since this morning.
On Thursday, actors Mammootty, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Dulquer Salmaan supported Vismaya on her debut film. Dulquer wished her "the very best for her #Thudakkam into the wonderful world of cinema." On the other hand, Mammootty wrote, "My heartfelt wishes and blessings to dear Vismaya Mohanlal who is making her acting debut tomorrow with #Thudakkam."
Meanwhile, Kalyani Priyadarshan wrote, "All the best for tomorrow mayoooos. Always always rooting for you @mayamohanlal." It is worth noting that Kalyani and Vismaya have known each other since childhood because their fathers—director Priyadarshan and superstar Mohanlal—are longtime friends and frequent collaborators.
Aju Varghese, too, conveyed his best wishes to the team behind the film, with a special shout-out to his Ohm Shanthi Oshaana director Jude. The film is written by Jude alongside Linish Nellikkal and Akhil Krishna.
Besides Vismaya, Aashish, and Mohanlal, the film also stars Sai Kumar, Bobby Kurian, Manoj K Jayan, Ganesh kumar, Aswin, Essa, Kottayam Ramesh, Jaya Kurup, and Jaffar Idukki, among others.
