Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra completes 50 days in theatres

It has been 50 days since the release of Domic Arun's superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role. The film's producer, Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films banner calls it "a record breaking 50 days." It has indeed been one. Earlier, it became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time, minting more than 300 crore from the box office. It is also the most-watched Malayalam film in the UAE.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra tells the story of a woman with supernatural powers navigating a world full of mere mortals and enemies who have come to know about her capabilities. Also starring Naslen, Chandu Salimkumar, and Sandy Master, Lokah is set to release soon on JioHotstar. However, the makers are yet to announce the date of its digital release. It is a rare feat for a film from any language to run for 50 days straight at a time when filmmakers push their projects to streaming platforms not long after their theatrical releases.

In the post marking 50 days of Lokah, the makers asked who plans to watch the film again, hinting at a longer run for the film in theatres. The makers recently announced a sequel to Lokah that will star Tovino Thomas' Chathan/Michael character.
