The other day, Panorama Studios bagged the rights to distribute director Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam 3 in theatres worldwide and digitally from Aashirvad Cinemas, in addition to the film's Hindi adaptation and its worldwide distribution rights. Subsequently, there has been some speculation among fans about whether the film's original and Hindi version will release simultaneously in theatres. A fan asked Jeethu about the same and the director confirmed that the Malayalam original would hit theatres first and that too two months before the other versions.
Antony Perumbavoor is producing Drishyam 3 under his Aashirvad Cinemas banner. The film is also set to release in Telugu. It is interesting to see how the early release of the Malayalam original would affect the other versions at the box office.
At the recent launch event, Jeethu told audiences not to expect a high-stakes thriller from the film. "This simply looks at where Georgekutty’s family is now, about four or five years later. I am not trying to make something bigger than Drishyam 1 or 2. If you are curious to see how their lives have unfolded, that is reason enough to watch," Jeethu said at the time.
