The winners of the 71st National Film Awards were announced in New Delhi the other day. While Shah Rukh Khan won Best Actor for his performance in Atlee's Jawan alongside Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail bagged the Best Feature Film award. Ever since the announcements were made, the likes of Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, and Mammootty took to social media to congratulate the winners. Kamal congratulated Shah Rukh Khan on his achievement, which he said is "long overdue" for his "stellar impact on world cinema." Kamal also described 12th Fail as a "masterpiece that moved me." Congratulating Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Vikrant Massey for their recognition for the film, Kamal said that "it dignified struggle and inspired millions." Kamal also appreciated Rani Mukerji, who won Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. Kamal called it "a portrayal that was both fierce and fragile, richly deserving of this national recognition."
On the other hand, Mohanlal congratulated every winner at the 71st National Film Awards. "A special salute to Urvashi and Vijayaraghavan on their well-deserved honours for their powerful performances. Warm congratulations to Shah Rukh Khan, Vikrant Massey, and Rani Mukerji on their wins," wrote Mohanlal.
Mammootty, meanwhile, congratulated the team behind the disaster genre film 2018, which earned Mohandas the Best Production Designer award. He made special mentions of 2018 producer Venu Kunnappilly and director Jude Anthany Joseph in his congratulatory post. He also congratulated Pookkaalam star Vijayaraghavan and Ullozhukku actor Urvashi for their wins in the Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories, respectively. Vijayaraghavan shared his award with Parking actor MS Bhaskar, whereas Vash (Hypnosis) star Janki Bodiwala shared the honours with Urvashi.
