Rishab Shetty took to social media to pen a note to celebrate four years since the release of Kantara (2022). Rishab wrote, directed and headlined Kantara, playing dual roles.
"Four years since Kantara came to life on the big screen. The rest is history. Awards and appreciation started pouring in from everywhere, but the love you all showered on the film remains unmatched. It was never just a film I made. It was a world I lived in, a story I carried within me, and a faith that shaped me," wrote the actor.
He added, "Four years later, the love still feels just as overwhelming. Forever grateful to everyone who believed in Kantara, celebrated it, and carried it from our soil to the world. This legend belongs to all of you."
Rishab also thanked his cast and crew for toiling alongside him, in bringing the project to life.
Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda produced the film under the Hombale Films banner. Kantara (2022) went on to collect over Rs 400 crores worldwide, being made on a modest budget of Rs 16 crores.
The film followed Shiva (Rishab Shetty), a happy-go-lucky man from a lineage of daiva practioners, whose past and present clash, when his home is threatened. The cast of the film also includes Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Prakash Thuminad, and Pramod Shetty, among others.
Rishab was a recipient of several awards including the National Film Award for Best Actor. The film also won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and was also recognised with the Silver Peacock - Special Jury Award at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), among others.
