The sudden demise of Kannada actor and producer Dileep Raj at the age of 47 has come as a shock to the Kannada film and television industry, especially after reports emerged that the actor had experienced symptoms related to a heart condition days before his passing.
According to sources close to the actor, Dileep Raj had recently travelled to Goa, during which he reportedly complained of chest discomfort and uneasiness. Though he had apparently planned to undergo a medical check-up after returning to Bengaluru, the actor suffered a massive heart attack in the early hours of Wednesday before medical attention could help.
Family members reportedly rushed him to a nearby hospital after he complained of severe chest pain at home, but doctors were unable to revive him. Those who knew the actor closely described the incident as unexpected, particularly because Dileep Raj was known for maintaining a disciplined lifestyle and regularly focusing on exercise and fitness.
Over the years, Dileep Raj built a steady career across theatre, television, and cinema, becoming a familiar face to Kannada audiences. He earned recognition through films such as Milana alongside Puneeth Rajkumar, apart from appearing in projects including U Turn, Boyfriend, and Kshana Kshana. On television, he found popularity through serials such as Hitler Kalyana, which he also backed as a producer under his banner DR Creations.
