Yash shared one of his most memorable experiences from making Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. He revealed that he and director Geetu Mohandas became very protective of Kiara Advani while filming, as she was pregnant. Speaking at the film's audio launch in Mumbai on Thursday, Yash praised Kiara's professionalism. He noted her commitment to the project never changed, even with the physically demanding schedule. Toxic will also be Kiara's first release after becoming a mother.
Recalling the shoot, Yash said he was initially anxious because many scenes required intense physical effort. "Kiara is an absolute professional. This film demanded a lot from all of us, so I was a little worried when she came on board. On the very first day, she asked me if I had ever shot in heavy rain. I told her I hadn't, but everything would work out well. As the shoot progressed, I was amazed by the dedication she brought to every scene," he said.
Yash added that he and Geetu Mohandas prioritised Kiara's safety throughout the production. "Even while she was pregnant, she gave the film her hundred per cent. Geetu and I were constantly concerned about her well-being. We were like bouncers or bodyguards on set, always ensuring she was comfortable and safe. I will always be grateful for her dedication. This film will remain special for her," Yash said, drawing applause from the audience.
This is not the first time Yash has publicly supported his co-star. After the release of Tabaahi, Kiara faced criticism on social media over some of the bold visuals in the song. During the Toxic trailer launch in Bengaluru last week, Yash defended her, encouraging her not to be distracted by online reactions. "As an actor, don't let criticism affect you. Keep believing in your work because the audience will celebrate it. Right now, we're probably just a little ahead of our time," he said.
Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups marks Yash's first film after the blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 and sees him playing a double role for the first time. The gangster action drama set for a worldwide release on August 26, features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi in key roles. The film produced by Venkat K Narayana's KVN Production and Yash's Monster Mind Creations shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, the film will release in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
