In an old interview, Rashmika Mandanna was asked who in the film industry fitted the description of "Mr Showoff". The actor hesitated to respond to the question initially, saying that doing so would get her into trouble. However, she soon mentioned Yash's name in her response. The KGF star had responded to the controversy that followed her comment long back.
In a recent episode of the show Aap ki Adalat, the actor has offered more clarity about what he feels about Rashmika's comment. When asked about his opinion on it, he said, "I don't know in what sense she spoke. She was new to the industry." He added that some 'bakwas' (nonsense) television programs would ask such questions to their guests to stir up some controversy and that the latter would fall for the trap.
"They would be told some wrong thing, asked about who comes to their minds when they hear it, and presented with some three-four options. Maybe she felt that this option (Yash's name) would be suitable," the actor explained. He revealed that her comment about him "offended several directors," although not him. "I personally feel that's okay. That is somebody's opinion. That is what I wrote at the time," Yash said before adding that even though people are entitled to share their opinion about him, it does not define his personality. "Who I am does not change based on someone's point of view. I am whoever I am," the actor asserted.
Yash also pointed out that he does not regard anyone who abuses someone else for their opinion about him as his fan. "If you don't respect another actor, then he is not my fan," the actor clarified.
On the film front, Yash is awaiting the August 26 release of Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas.
