Yash has added another first to his growing list of milestones. The KGF star is set to appear on veteran journalist Rajat Sharma's long-running television show Aap Ki Adalat, becoming the first actor to have built his career entirely in the Kannada film industry to feature on the programme.
For over three decades, Aap Ki Adalat has been one of Indian television's most popular interview shows. Known for its courtroom-style format, it brings politicians, actors, sportspersons and public figures to the witness stand, where Rajat Sharma questions them before a live audience. Over the years, the show has hosted personalities including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Rahul Gandhi, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut.
Actors of Kannada origin such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Shilpa Shetty and Suniel Shetty have appeared on the show before, but their careers have largely been associated with Hindi cinema. Yash, however, is the first actor whose journey began and flourished in Kannada cinema to take the iconic hot seat.
Announcing the episode, Rajat Sharma shared photographs with Yash on social media and praised the actor's rise from humble beginnings to becoming one of Indian cinema's biggest stars. In his teaser, Sharma described Yash as an actor who doesn't simply appear on screen but "tears through it," applauding his determination and hard-earned success.
The episode is expected to trace Yash's journey from television to becoming a pan-Indian star through the KGF franchise. It is also likely to touch upon his upcoming film, Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas.
Yash's appearance also underlines Kannada cinema's growing presence on the national stage.
