Yash has finally responded to a remark made by veteran Telugu producer Allu Aravind about his career before KGF. In 2023, while discussing the success of KGF, Aravind questioned who Yash was before the film and suggested that its scale and presentation played a major role in its success. The remark sparked controversy, with many questioning his comments about Yash’s popularity before the Prashanth Neel directorial turned him into a pan-India star.

Speaking to Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, Yash was asked about the perception that a producer makes a film while the actor gets most of the credit when it becomes a success. Rajat also referred to the question, “Who was Yash before KGF?”

Yash agreed that there was some truth to the question, saying that a film can never be credited to just one person. “I believe a film does not belong only to the producer. Many people work on a film, but the actor often gets most of the credit. Whether it is a supporting actor, writer or any other member of the team, everyone works hard. But if an actor cannot carry what has been created for him, the film may not work,” Yash said.

He also acknowledged why audiences often shower actors with more love when a film succeeds. According to Yash, the actor becomes the face through which audiences connect emotionally with the story.

“I sometimes wonder why an actor gets all the love. Then I realised that despite all the pressure, when an actor is able to connect with the audience and perform emotionally through the film, it works. Audiences respect everyone and know who deserves that respect,” he added.

The remarks did not go down well with Yash’s fans, particularly given the actor’s long career in Kannada cinema before KGF. Yash had already established himself as a leading Kannada actor through films such as Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, Googly and Masterpiece before KGF turned him into a national star.
