Actor-producer Dhananjaya produces ZEE5 Kannada’s upcoming original series Jerax, directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, with Nagabhushana leading the cast. The makers have now roped in internet personality Payal Chengappa, adding a fresh dynamic to the ensemble. Payal, who enjoys strong digital popularity through comedy content and shows like Amrutanjan, and Bad Girlz, is expected to bring her signature timing and crisp humour, joining the series’ quirky, offbeat space.
Set in the Mandya–Mysuru belt, Jerax follows Prakash, a xerox shop owner whose life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers he possesses unusual powers. Blending rooted, small-town storytelling with touches of fantasy and science fiction, the series promises a world that is both playful and unpredictable.
With Dhananjaya taking on the production and Srinidhi Bengaluru making his OTT debut, Jerax brings together a team keen on exploring unconventional narratives. The series also reflects ZEE5 Kannada’s focus on stories that stay local in texture while experimenting with genre.
