He pointed out that when tensions rise between states, languages, or cultures, art can bridge differences and bring people closer.
Pawan Kalyan’s comments come before the release of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, which will hit theatres worldwide on October 2. The film promises an epic experience and has generated discussions about ticket pricing. Following Karnataka’s decision to implement uniform ticket rates, Kantara’s producers, Hombale Films, sought legal approval to sell tickets at higher prices; this decision has now extended to Andhra Pradesh with government support.
In light of these controversies, Pawan Kalyan publicly endorsed the film. He mentioned that cinema should connect audiences rather than cause conflicts over language or region. He noted the long-standing cultural exchange between Telugu and Kannada cinema, citing iconic artists like Dr Rajkumar, Upendra, Sudeep, and Rishab Shetty.
