Kantara: Chapter 1 isn’t just rewriting box office history—it’s redefining how Indian cinema celebrates culture, faith, and folklore. Among the many voices praising writer-director and actor Rishab Shetty’s vision, veteran actor and former MP Sumalatha Ambareesh has now joined the chorus, calling the film “a cinematic masterpiece” and applauding Shetty’s stunning portrayal of Karnataka’s traditions and spiritual ethos.

The film, produced by Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films, continues to dominate screens across India and beyond, drawing acclaim for its spellbinding music, rich visual storytelling, and deeply rooted narrative. Filmmakers, actors, and cinephiles from across the country have been vocal about its impact. Adding her voice, Sumalatha shared a heartfelt note on social media after watching the film.

“Dear Rishab,” she began, “I watched Kantara: Chapter 1. Congratulations on its phenomenal success. Your direction and the way every actor breathed life into their roles left me speechless. The effort you’ve put into bringing this visual spectacle to life—and in showcasing the beauty of Karnataka’s folklore, culture, and traditions—is something I deeply admire and respect.”

Kantara: Chapter 1, also starring Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead, along with Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah, and a host of talented actors, features cinematography by Arvind Kashyap and music composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath.
