Recently, we reported about Shah Rukh Khan being part of a music video from composer-singer AR Rahman paying tribute to the late Asha Bhosle. On Friday, Rahman revealed that Sanjay Dutt is also part of it. "Thank you, Sanjay Dutt, for being part of this celebration of Asha Bhosle ji. Your warmth and affection by graciously agreeing, make this tribute even more special," Rahman wrote.
Sanjay shared an emotional note following the legendary singer's passing in April. Taking to social media at the time, the actor wrote, "Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Asha ji. Her voice wasn’t just music, it was emotion, memory, and magic that will live on forever. I had the honour of sharing a song with her and learning so much from her. An irreplaceable loss for Indian music. Rest in peace."
It is worth noting that Sanjay and Asha collaborated on the duet 'Aapke Dil Mein Thodi Si Jagah Chahiye' from the 2006 music album Asha and Friends. Further, several classic Bollywood songs featuring Sanjay have Asha's voice, most notably "Aur Is Dil Mein" from the film Imaandaar.
Coming back to the Asha Bhosle tribute, Rahman conceptualised this project before the legendary singer's passing and planned to perform it in front of her. On August 16, the Oscar-winning music director shared a teaser for it, while explaining what he wanted to achieve with it. "On this World Music Day, we celebrate a voice that has transcended generations, languages, and borders. This tribute began as a dream while Asha Bhosle ji was still with us. We had hoped she would witness the love and gratitude this project carries," Rahman wrote at the time.
The video, titled 'Asha Forever,' the video also has contributions from artists at London’s Trinity Laban Music college.
