Recently, we reported about AR Rahman announcing a song in tribute to the late Asha Bhosle on World Music Day. The iconic singer passed away on April 12, Sunday. The song will have the vocals of multiple singers, including Rahman and Bhosle, and will celebrate the legacy of the late singer. On Sunday, Rahman revealed that the video will also feature Shah Rukh Khan.
Taking to X, the Academy Award-winning music director wrote, "A heartfelt thank you to dear Shah Rukh Khan for graciously agreeing to be part of Asha Bhosle ji’s tribute music video." Rahman also revealed through hashtags that the song will be out in the near future.
Rahman conceptualised the project, titled 'Asha Forever,' at a time when Bhosle was alive, with a plan to present it in front of her. Recently, he shared a teaser for the song, while clarifying his goal with it.
"On this World Music Day, we celebrate a voice that has transcended generations, languages, and borders. This tribute began as a dream while Asha Bhosle ji was still with us. We had hoped she would witness the love and gratitude this project carries," Rahman shared at the time.
He added, "Around the world, we celebrate musical legends. We are blessed to have one of our own, an artist whose voice became the soundtrack of countless lives. The most meaningful tribute felt like bringing together different musicians, traditions, and sounds to celebrate her extraordinary legacy. This is our humble offering to Asha ji. May her music continue to inspire hearts for generations to come. Today, we share a glimpse of this journey with the teaser. The full tribute will be unveiled soon. We hope you all receive it with the same love with which it was created."
Musicians from London’s Trinity Laban Music college will also participate in the video.
