Mirzapur: The Movie, the much anticipated film spinoff of the Mirzapur universe, will release in theatres tomorrow to a massive opening. The film has performed exceptionally well in advance bookings. However, a lot of questions remain in the film-goers’ minds about the film’s storyline, cast members, and most importantly, whether it is crucial to revisit the three seasons of the series before you walk in the movie.
How does the movie story connect to Mirzapur show?
The story for Mirzapur: The Movie continues where season 1 of the Mirzapur left off. During a recent promotional event, Ali Fazal asked fans to rewatch episodes 1 to 6 of the first season, in order to follow the film’s narrative smoothly, considering these episodes establish the primary characters and the central promise, which includes Kaleen Bhaiyya’s empire and the power structure in Mirzapur, Guddu’s transformation, and the relationships that alter the narrative.
Which cast members return?
Most of its lead cast members will be seen in the film — Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiyya, Ali Fazal as Guddu, Shweta Tripathi as Golu, and Rasika Dugal as Beena. In another major casting change, Jitendra Kumar will be seen playing Bablu Pandit, instead of Vikrant Massey.
Other cast members include Abhishek Banerjee as Compounder, Harshita Gaur as Dimpy Pandit, Shriya Pilgaonkar as Sweety Gupta. Also marking his entry in the Mirzapur universe is Ravi Kishan as Babban Babua Yadav.
