The characters and the universe of Mirzapur are expected to charm the audience again with an upcoming feature film, based on the popular web series. Hailing from Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, the film titled Mirzapur: The Movie is set for a September 04 release in theatres worldwide. Ahead of its release, the box office tracker Sacnilk has shared an advance bookings report, revealing interesting details that underscore the anticipation around the film.
According to Sacnilk data, 26,398 tickets were sold for Mirzapur: The Movie on August 31, Monday, and the advance collection for release day stands at 83.67 lakh (gross). Interestingly, including block seats in the calculation takes the opening day gross collection to 1.9 crore. It is expected that 1 lakh tickets for the film will be sold by August 03, Thursday. Industry insiders predict the film to have a strong opening in its first weekend, with projected figures touching 20 to 25 crore.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the Mirzapur film stars Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar, Ravi, Abhishek B, Rasika Dugal, Mohitt Maalik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Pramod Pathak, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Shweta Tripathi, Sonal S Chauhan, Anangsha Biswas, Shaji Choudhary, Satendra Soni, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Sushant Singh.
On the technical front, Mirzapur: The Movie has four composers: RAY, Junaid Kumar, Anand Bhaskar and Dhanda Nyoliwala. The technical team includes cinematographer Sanjay Kapoor, editor Manan Ashwin Mehta, and production designers Sonam Singh and Abhijit Gaonkar.
The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of the Excel Entertainment banner in association with Amazon MGM Studios. Co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, the film is expected to release on Prime Video, the same streamer as the web series it is based on, after its theatrical debut.
