The recently-released Ramayana: Part 1 received praise for many of its actor in the massive ensemble cast that it boasted. One of them was Ravie Dubey, who walked with a lot of praise for his portrayal of Ram’s younger brother Lakshman. In a recent social media post, Sunil Lahri, who played Lakshman in the iconic 80s TV show Ramayana too lauded the actor.
Taking to his X handle, Sunil posted, “The innocence and intensity should be reflected in the character of Laxman, is visible in new Ramayana. Hearty wishes for the success of the new Ramayana."
Within hours, Ravie responded to the post with extreme gratitude. In a long, heartfelt post, the actor wrote, “I wish to say with utmost respect that when you portrayed Shri Lakshman, I was very young. Your depiction has held a place in the hearts of the entire nation from that time until today. The Ramayana resides in all our hearts, and your deeply significant contribution has been pivotal in this profound connection. In the role of Shri Lakshman, you still reign over the hearts of us all even today."
Further responding to the praise from the actor, Ravie added, “In such circumstances, receiving such an affectionate feedback from you is not just a great fortune for me, but for our entire team. I am very happy that you watched the film and liked it. Sunil ji, at the center of both your efforts and ours is the same sentiment — to carry the name of Shri Ram to every person, every heart. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Sunil ji. May your affection and blessings continue like this always. Jai Shri Ram."
In CE's review for the film, we wrote about Ravie Dubey’s role and performance, “In one of the bigger surprises of the film, Ravie Dubey lands an impressive performances as Lakshman. More importantly, the writers surprise by how they position him in the narrative. Amidst an otherworldly tale of gods and demons, Lakshman emerges as the humane voice: bitter, observant, witty, informal.”
Besides Ravi, Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, the mythological epic also starred Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek Oberoi, and Arun Govil among others.
