Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan took to social media expressing his displeasure over reports that allegedly twisted his words and misinterpreted  a recent tumblr post. The actor clarified that his post was a devotional reference and not a statement directed at his opponents.

The actor has criticised media for the misrepresentation explaining that the phrase was an invocation dedicated to Lord Krishna. "In praise of Lord Krishna, people often chant the following prayer: 'Hathi ghoda palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal ki (An elephant, a horse and a palanquin- glory to Lord Krishna). But the media has disrespected this devotional chant and, to promote itself, published headlines suggesting: 'Look, Amitabh is challenging his opponents, saying, 'Bring your elephants and horses; we will fight with our weapons and will not be afraid!,'" Big B wrote in Hindi on Monday.

He called it a grave insult and backlashed the media for wrongly accusing the actor and spreading a misleading narrative distorting its religious significance. "On one hand, it's a grave insult to a 'Jai Shri Krishna' invocation, and on the other, they're twisting the words to make it about challenging opponents... Listen up, with your ears wide open... We have a 50 million-strong follower base, media folks. The day we give the signal, just 10 percent of them are ready and waiting to strike. The more you twist our words and condemn them, the 100 times greater capacity our Ef has lying in wait to do the same. It's just a matter of them speaking up," the Sholay actor added.

Amitabh Bachchan ended the post by further slamming the media, questioning their accountability that said,"If we make a mistake, we immediately apologize and try to make amends.. But here it seems like this is their birthright... I was about to say, as a victim, with affection and love, I'm heading off to sleep. But I won't say victim; the right to my pain is mine alone; it's not worthy of your {media}... Good night, my dear E."
