Emraan Hashmi and producer Vishesh Bhatt are collaborating again after many years, on the upcoming action-drama Awarapan 2. The film is an official sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan, which continues to be remembered as one of Emraan’s most-loved performances. Recently, Vishesh Bhatt spoke about the much-anticipation sequel, and his previous collaborations with Emraan including Jannat, on which Vishesh worked as a writer and creative producer.
In an official statement, Vishesh said, “With Awarapan 2 next we hope to bring back the same emotional soul and intensity that fans have loved in our cinema for years.” Incidentally, this week also marks the completion of 18 years of Jannat, another of their major hits together. Talking about Jannat, Vishesh noted, "“Jannat was always a special film for us. At its heart, it was the story of a young man driven by ambition and instinct, whose life changes because of love. Audiences connected deeply with Arjun’s journey because it reflected a generation constantly chasing more, and I think that emotion still feels relevant even today. The film continues to receive immense love even after 18 years because it stayed with audiences long after they left the cinema.”
Besides Awarapan and Jannat, Emraan and Vishesh worked together on projects like Raaz Reboot, The Killer, Gangster, and Mr X, all of which had Vishesh onboard as a co-producer.
Also starring Disha Patani, Awarapan 2 is set for theatrical release on August 14, 2026. Nitin Kakkar helms direction for the sequel.
