Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer which released in theatres on Friday, did not have a great start at the box office. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the comedy features Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh as the female leads

According to Sacnilk, the Ayushmann starrer garnered nearly Rs 4.0 crores (nett) on is opening day at the domestic box office. In the overseas territories, the film's gross collections stood at Rs 1 crore. As of at 2pm on Saturday, the film added another Rs 0.9 crore to its collections.

While the film had most number of shows in Delhi, it showed strongest trends in Mumbai and Bengaluru, registering occupancy rates of 21 percent and 24 percent, respectively.

Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 55 crores, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is unlikely to recover from the dull start. The word-of-mouth response doesn’t appear to be very strong either.

In our review for the film, we noted, “PPAWD is old-fashioned and archaic in some good ways. It wants to stick to the known template, going purely for laughs and worrying about little else. And yet, even in comedies as surface-level as this, a sense of emotional ground-building only helps to underline what’s at stake.

Ayushmann’s last theatrical was Thamma, which too didn’t live up to the trade expectations.
