The official trailer of Ananya Panday-Lakshya starrer Chand Mera Dil was unveiled on Monday. The romantic drama, set for theatrical release on May 22, is directed by Vivek Soni.

Chand Mera Dil trailer begins on an intense note, capturing a moment of discomforting confrontation between the two protagonists Aarav and Chandni, where the male protagonist can be clearly seen getting apologetic and repentant. The trailer then establishes the budding romance between the two, laying ground for what seemed to be a fairytale romance, legendary as Chandni describes it at one point.

Ananya Panday recalls how Deepika Padukone taught her to speak for herself: ‘I didn’t know I could say no’

However, there is something that keeps their love story far from perfect, and it evidently stems from Aarav’s mistakes, something his own sister can’t entirely forgive him for. What is the mistake, though? The trailer clever plays around this conflict without revealing further plot details.

Besides helming direction, Vivek has also penned the screenplay (along with Tushar Paranjpe) and dialogues (sharing credits with Tushar and Akshat Ghildial). The supporting cast includes Manish Choudhary, Iravati Harshe, and Aastha Singh among others.

Sachin-Jigar have composed music for the film, while lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The makers have released three singles so far, all of which have received a good response on social media.

Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra & Marijke deSouza, Chand Mera Dil remains the only major theatrical release for May 22.

The romantic-drama marks the maiden collaboration between Ananya and Lakshya.
