Kriti Sanon, who earned critical acclaim and box office success for her previous acclaim Tere Ishq Mein, will next be seen in Cocktail 2, sharing screen with Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. During a recent public appearance, the actor spoke about her role in the upcoming film, calling it ‘the hottest’ of her career so far.
Opening up about her look and character in the Homi Adjania film, Kriti said, “I think I'm looking very different from what I've ever looked and it's probably the hottest character that I've done so far. And I think Homi is someone who has great great aesthetic visual sense and he's just inherently cool and I think he's brought a cool side to me which I didn't know I had.”
Also addressing the subjecting of whether the film is a sequel to the 2012 film Cocktail, Kriti said, “It’s a franchise. It carries a vibe similar to Cocktail, which is also present in Cocktail 2. The tone and atmosphere are in a comparable realm, yet the narrative and characters are entirely distinct. There’s no direct connection to Cocktail aside from the fact that it encompasses a mix a cocktail of emotions, camaraderie, drama, music, and stunning locations.”
The official teaser of Cocktail 2, that was released with Dhurandhar 2 in theatres, is yet to be officially released online. The film, written by Luv Ranjan, is set for theatrical release on June 19. Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, the film will be Kriti's maiden collaboration with Rashmika as well as Homi Adjania. Meanwhile, Shahid and Kriti had previously worked together in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), which was a box office success.
