Kabir Khan, who last directed Chandu Champion, is reportedly collaborating with Kartik Aaryan for another sports drama. According to reports, the film recently went on floors in Mumbai.
The shooting for the film began on Monday at a restaurant in Mumbai, with Kabir Khan directing a few scenes with a large crowd of junior artistes. The team will soon travel to Kashmir, where they plan to shoot a considerable part of their film. The film is inspired by the life of Kashmiri kickboxing champion Tajamul Islam. While the casting for Islam isn’t confirmed yet, Kartik is reportedly playing Islam’s coach.
In 2016, Tajamul Islam became India’s youngest world kickboxing champion as she won gold in the Under-8 category at the World Championship. 5 years later, she bagged another gold medal in the Under-14 category. In 2019, Tajamul decided to start a training academy in Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir, with an aim to improve access to sports infrastructure in the region.
We had earlier reported about Kabir Khan signing a two-film contract with Applause Entertainment. One of those films will have Kabir helming direction, while the other will have him onboard as a creative producer.
Meanwhile, Kartik was recently seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, where he shared screen with Ananya Panday.
