Cocktail 2, the latest Shahid Kapoor-starrer romantic comedy, has taken off to a good start at the box office, garnering over 13 crores nett on day 1 at domestic box office. However, the film’s box office potential is also limited to some extent due to the A-rating certificate it received from the censor board. Recently, Shahid addressed the issue.
Interacting with his fans online during a promotional session, Shahid Kapoor said, “I know we have gotten an A-certificate. I am figuring out why. I didn’t understand why we received A-rating.” Further assuring his fans that Cocktail 2 is a family friendly film, the O’ Romeo actor added, “There is nothing in this film that you could find objectionable. It’s a story of three people, and it’s a film you can watch with everybody.”
While the film has received mixed reviews from both the critics and audience, Cocktail 2 is well on its way to have a strong run on day 2.
As per Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 2.05 crore (nett) on Saturday so far, after earning Rs. 13.5 crore on Friday. Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 150 crore, Cocktail 2 needs to have a steady run for well over two weeks to be declared a hit.
Directed by Homi Adjania, Cocktail 2 also stars Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead cast. Maddock Films has produced the film.
